We currently have a need for a Fatigue Testing Engineer. The individual hired for this position will perform fatigue and fracture toughness testing in our mechanical test lab.  The position will follow a project from initial request for work to the issuance of an analytical report. Customer communication on the technical and non-technical details of the order will take place daily. 

Candidates must possess a thorough understanding of the mechanical properties of metals and must have extensive experience working with axial, bending, torsional and/or multi-parameter load applications including specimen machining, equipment selection and fixturing. Candidates will have experience in fracture toughness testing and product life predictions. Test methodology and data analysis are a particularly important aspect of this position. Another important aspect is the ability to take testing results and compile them accurately in reports which meet customer requirements and demands.

Applicants must be proficient with computers, possess the ability to read and interpret documents, specifications, and instructions and be able to communicate effectively with customers and fellow employees. Candidates must be well-organized and detail-oriented.  Preference will be given to candidates who are familiar with ASTM methods. An understanding of the Nadcap standard and ISO Guide 17025 would be a positive.

Position Requirements:

  • Expertise in fatigue and fracture mechanics
  • Minimum 5 years of fatigue test experience
  • Materials testing experience in a laboratory setting
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to schedule and keep project on track
  • Preferred - Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering
