Requesting a Quotation and Submitting an Order to our Metallurgical Laboratories

The key to getting the most out of your analysis is establishing open and frequent communication with your Sherry Laboratories team, especially during the initial phases of our relationship.

How do I submit an RFQ?

The initial step when submitting a product to us is to complete the Request for Quote form. This form will guide you in providing Sherry Laboratories with the information needed to prepare your quote. This should be recognized that it is for quoting only, not a new order coming into the lab. 

Receiving a Quote for Services

After you have submitted your Request for Quote, the customer service team responds immediately with acceptance of the RFQ, and then we will send you a quote for services, within one business day for routine testing. This quote will include pricing and our standard turn-around-times for delivery of your report. Complex testing and special projects will be quoted in a timely manner after a thorough review of the scope of the project.

What information do I need to submit a sample?

Although completion of our Sample Submittal form is the fastest and most efficient way to help us process your order, we accept orders in any written form including your company’s purchase order, as long as the following information is included:

  • Company name, address, and phone number and email address
  • Contact name, phone number & email address (or fax number) for the distribution of the report
  • Material type. Indicate on the paperwork if the material type is unknown as well as the grade or class of material if specified
  • Specification (including revision level), drawing, purchase order requirements
  • Test method or complete description of the test to be performed
  • Billing contact information as well as special billing instructions
  • End user name or prime quality requirements, if applicable
  • Expected completion date

If you are using your company’s purchase order or internal form, there is no need to submit our Sample Submittal form, and vice versa. Please confirm that you are submitting complete information – including specification and revision level - to avoid delays in delivery.

What if I don’t have all of this information?

Each order submitted to our materials laboratories undergo a Login and Technical Review phase for maximum efficiency. If we cannot process your order, it will be placed under Contract Review. When an order is placed under Contract Review, typically we are missing key information necessary to complete an order. To avoid delays, please refer to “What information do I need to submit a sample?” and confirm the accuracy and completion of the paperwork accompanying your sample. In case your order is placed under Contract Review, you will receive an email notification in addition to a call from one of our Customer Service Specialists. We may request additional information such as a drawing or specification (many times, a revision level), or clarify test parameters.

How do I submit a sample for testing?

Forward a copy of the sample submittal form or purchase order documents to salesin@sherrylabs.com or salesok@sherrylabs.com one day in advance of sample arrival in the laboratory. This allows for adequate scheduling of the work for fastest completion of testing. In addition, include a copy of the paperwork in the box with the sample. 

What you can expect after you submit your order

Once we receive your order and start to process it, you will receive an automated email confirming the details of your order as well as an anticipated delivery date of your report. You can always check the status of your order by logging on to our secure web portal. To register a username and password for the portal, please contact a Customer Service Specialist at salesin@sherrylabs.com or 800.874.3563 (Daleville, Ind. lab) or salesok@sherrylabs.com or 800.982.8378 (Broken Arrow, Okla. lab).  Customer Service is available to respond to calls Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. EST.

How will I receive my test results?

Emailed via our secure portal. Our portal gives you 24/7, real-time access to reports and invoices. Please contact a Customer Service Specialist to register a username and password. If email is not available, the report can be faxed.

What if my results are non-conforming?

A Customer Service Specialist will contact the report recipient, prior to distribution of the report to discuss retesting options. If retesting is not applicable, the report may be transmitted prior to a phone call.
