Sherry Laboratories, Inc., is seeking
an experienced Failure Analyst to work in its Broken Arrow Laboratory
in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Broken Arrow is a suburb of Tulsa.
The ideal candidate will join an existing Failure Analysis staff of metallurgists,
mechanical engineers, and technicians, and will be responsible for coordinating
daily testing projects designed to funnel information obtained toward
a definitive conclusion. The candidate will be expected to evaluate testing
data for accuracy and conformance. Candidates must be familiar with standards
and procedures such as ASTM, ASME, SAE, NACE, API, and other related testing
specifications.
Duties include the eventual independent performance of failure analyses
and the coordination of activities within the Failure Department to complete
projects in a timely basis. The individual hired will organize, direct,
and control activities to achieve the overall expectations of the company's
strategic and business plans as well as those of our clients. The successful
candidate will have knowledge of metallurgy, materials science, engineering
mechanics, and chemistry. The person hired for the position will work
to provide client satisfaction via the production of legally defensible
data in a timely manner. Excellent written and oral communication skills
are a must, including computer literacy. Aerospace experience, particularly
with hot engine components, is a plus, as well is experience with non-ferrous
alloys, such as titanium, nickel, and cobalt alloys.
