Testing Services

From drinking water testing to environmental remediation projects, from industrial pretreatment to solid and hazardous waste, Sherry’s dedicated scientists and technicians utilize state-of-the-art equipment to conduct testing which covers a broad array of environmental issues.

Customized project sample kits with preprinted labels and chain of custody forms are available upon request.  Sample kits can often be delivered and sampling performed by the helpful field technicians operating Sherry's extensive route service.  Our certified testing laboratories also receive samples via Federal Express, Airborne, United Parcel Services (UPS) and the United States Postal Service.  Sherry is certified by the United States Department of Agriculture to receive samples of foreign soil.  In addition, HAZ MAT Shipping is available at our laboratory in Lafayette, La.

Our environmental laboratories are accredited by a number of state environmental agencies.  The lab in Lafayette, La., has also earned certification through the Environmental Protection Agency's National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP), which implements standards established by the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC).

Tests are conducted in accordance with guidelines set in edicts like the EPA's Safe Drinking Water Act and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, as well as regulatory programs for Underground Storage Tanks (UST) and National Pollutant Discharge and Elimination Systems (NPDES).  In addition, waste identification and analysis are performed on hazardous and nonhazardous waste to meet treatment, storage and disposal facilities requirements.

Sherry Laboratories participates in United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Water Supply and Water Pollution performance evaluation programs, as well as multiple private and industrial rating systems.  Our Bioassay Department also participates in annual EPA Discharge Monitoring Report Quality Assurance studies.

Bioassay

Sherry Laboratories has the experience, knowledge, dedication and expertise to service all of your bioassay testing needs by providing biomonitoring toxicity tests for petroleum, industrial and municipal customers. Sherry Laboratories, a leader in the bioassay field, is certified by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality and the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality. We cultivate and maintain in-house cultures of test organisms and specialize in understanding the time constraints of the offshore oil industry.

Wastewater

Analysis is only a portion of the service we provide to our wastewater clients.  Our staff will also assist you in reviewing your permits and tracking your exceedances.  In addition, our friendly field technicians provide sampling, including low level mercury sampling, and pickup service.

How to Submit a Sample/Route Service

Sherry Laboratories is happy to offer route pickup service to many of its clients. The Indiana route service covers virtually all of the Eastern and Central portion of the state. It runs as far northwest as LaPorte and as far southwest as Crane. Our Louisiana route stretches throughout the state and runs as far west as Mont Belvieu, Texas. It stretches to Pascagoula, Miss., in the east. To schedule a pickup or determine if your city is on an existing Sherry route, please contact the nearest Sherry facility for additional information.

If you would like to send an environmental sample to the Sherry Laboratories facility nearest you, please print and complete the Environmental Chain of Custody Form and include it along with your test specimen.
