To State HR Position Muncie, Indiana - Dave Koesters has been selected to serve as the Education Director for the Indiana State Council of the Society of Human Resources Management. Koesters will begin his two-year term on Jan. 1, 2002. He will be responsible for advocating, tracking, and coordinating projects and programs intended to improve the readiness of students to enter the work force. Koesters will coordinate efforts for the SHRM at the national, regional and local levels to encourage members to work with local school systems, advocate programs and activities. He will also serve as a resource and liaison for local chapters and schools as programs are initiated and developed. "Serving in such a capacity is consistent with the Ontario Corporation vision of being active in and serving ones community ," said Koesters, Human Resources Manager at Sherry Laboratories, a subsidiary of Ontario Corporation. "I consider it an honor to be able to devote time and effort to make a difference in the HR profession and our community. Its equally as gratifying to know you are helping to prepare our young people for the future." Koesters became the first Human Resources Manager in Sherry Laboratories history in April of 2000. Since that time he has been instrumental in implementing a new performance appraisal form and performance management system to ensure appraisals are completed in a timely manner. He has also written over 200 job descriptions one for every job within the company, completed a wage survey, and implemented wage brackets for all positions. Koesters efforts have helped reduce employee turnover within the company by 25 percent. A recipient of Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) Certification in 1997, Koesters has spent nearly 20 years as a human resources generalist, trainer and team facilitator. He has extensive experience in designing and conducting training programs, workshops and seminars on topics that include staffing, training and development, orientation, leadership skills, and interpersonal skills. | Last Article | Next Article |
