LARRY DRAKE
NAMED DIRECTOR OF DALEVILLE METALLURGICAL LABORATORY

DALEVILLE, Ind. — Sherry Laboratories, an independent provider
of third-party testing services, is pleased to announce Larry
Drake has been selected as the Metallurgical Laboratory Director at the
company’s Daleville facility.
“We are very fortunate to welcome a person with the national and
international background of a Larry Drake to the Sherry family,”
said Sylvester Johnson, Vice President of Materials Testing. “He’s
been involved in testing and manufacturing in a variety of roles that
range from sales and marketing to lab management, so he brings a very
broad-based perspective with him that I think we will find very
beneficial
Drake, who has more than 25 years of experience in the manufacturing and
testing industries, assumes his Sherry position after spending the last
year as Business Development Manager - Automotive for Bodycote Testing
Group in Shanghai, China. His responsibilities included writing a business
plan for the facility; planning the services to be offered and determining
detailed budget requirements, including labor and equipment; acquiring
equipment and services quotations to begin operation; and recruiting and
retaining
staff members.
Prior to that, Drake was Technical Director for Intertek Automotive Services
from May 2005 thru April 2007, during which time he
coordinated facility improvements, including the import and setup of all
testing equipment for a new lab in Shanghai. He also provided
technical training of test methods, equipment operation and lab operating
procedures to the engineering staff.
From December 2003 to May 2005, Drake was Intertek/Entela’s on-site
Program Manager II at Lear Corporation. His work history
also includes a stint as Test Engineer/Team Leader at TI Automotive, as
well as Test Engineer-Chassis Group at Saturn Corporation.
Drake earned a Bachelor’s of Science, as well as a Master’s
of Business Administration with Engineering Distinction from Almeda
University.
Sherry Laboratories, which was established in 1947, provides a complete
array of reliable, high-quality analytical testing services.
The network features eight labs in three states — Indiana, Louisiana
and Oklahoma. The facilities are organized to provide a single
source for independent environmental, bioassay, metallurgical, nonmetallic,
polymer, microbiological, and petroleum related testing

their scheduling requirements.
