SHERRY EXPANDS
WITH PURCHASE OF EDGLO
November 19, 2007
Daleville, Indiana -- Sherry Laboratories
is pleased to announce its expansion with the acquisition of testing operations
from Edglo Laboratories, Inc., in Fort Wayne, Ind. Edglo is an environmental
testing company specializing in NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination
System) and industrial pretreatment effluent discharges, industrial waste
sites, drinking water and landfill monitoring wells, storm water discharges,
natural waterways, and contaminated sites.
Edglo has been providing environmental sampling and testing services to
industries, municipalities and individuals throughout the Midwest since
1969.
Christopher LaMothe, Chairman and CEO of Sherry Laboratories, said the
acquisition will strengthen Sherry’s market presence as the leading
wastewater laboratory in Indiana. “Edglo Laboratories, through its
associates, has built a solid reputation for excellence with its clients.
Sherry’s similar commitment to customers makes this a natural addition
to our growing family of laboratories and services.”
In addition to enriching the company’s wastewater expertise, the
acquisition allows Sherry Laboratories to increase its drinking water
testing capabilities. The combined operations of Sherry and Edglo will
remain in Fort Wayne and operate from a 15,000-square-foot facility at
2121 East Washington Boulevard.
“We have found over the years that Fort Wayne and Indiana are very
business friendly,” LaMothe said. “We are pleased to expand
our operations in this city and state.”
Ed Guindon, former owner and President of the testing operations at Edglo,
said after spending 39 years in the laboratory business he is looking
forward to a partial retirement and is grateful to find a company like
Sherry to continue servicing clients in the area. “I am especially
pleased to have a well-respected entity in the business like Sherry Laboratories
come in and combine and expand our environmental services. I know they
are committed to Fort Wayne, Allen County and other areas of the state.”
In addition to the Fort Wayne facility, Sherry Laboratories has seven
laboratories strategically located throughout the United States, including
four in Indiana. The company has an environmental laboratory in Columbus,
as well as a facility in Warsaw which specializes in environmental, food
and microbiological testing. Sherry also has a 54,000-square-foot complex
in Daleville, which is utilized for environmental, microbiological and
metallurgical testing. It also houses the Sherry Engineering Group and
is home to Sherry’s administrative headquarters.
In addition to the four Indiana locations, Sherry has two environmental
laboratories in Louisiana. The facility in Lafayette provides environmental
and bioassay-testing services, while the lab in Scott specializes in hydrocarbon
testing and the blending of specialty gases. Sherry also has a facility
in Broken Arrow, Okla., a suburb of Tulsa, which offers metallurgical
and nonmetallic analyses and metallurgical field services.
Established in 1947, Sherry Laboratories provides a single source for
independent metallurgical, nonmetallic, polymer, environmental, microbiological,
bioassay and petroleum related testing services that satisfy customers’
precise specifications while meeting their scheduling requirements. Sherry
provides analytical services across the United States and throughout the
world to clients in the aerospace, automotive, defense, general manufacturing,
medical device, nuclear, petrochemical, pretreatment, remediation and
refining industries.

(A2LA), National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program
